The YES Company Programme involves students aged 15 to 19 setting up and running their own company in school over the course of one academic year. They elect a board of directors from amongst their peers, raise share capital and market and finance a product or service of their own choice, in doing so learning about all aspects of business such as market research, finance, sales, production or service provision, customer service and HR. At the end of the year they liquidate the company and present a report and accounts. This year, the Company Programme was relaunched to move mainly online with an new dedicated website for all UK companies. Students can save their minutes online, e-mail one another and have access to all resources through the company's own secure area of the site. Young people work through the programme with support from a Link Teacher in school and a volunteer Business Adviser. YES has a network of over 600 volunteers across Scotland over 17 Area Boards who support the delivery of the Programme in schools in their area. You can visit each area's website at the bottom of the homepage. Formal recognition of the skills and abilities developed through the Company Programme is offered via the Young Enterprise Exam that all Company Programme participants are invited to sit.
