This years Young
Enterprise Scotland Annual Conference, held on
Monday 12th November 2007 in Glasgow's Clyde Auditorium was
arguably the best yet! Download a full brochure,
including speaker biographies
here.
Over 800 students were in attendance at the main
event, with a further 190 primary school student
attending the Primary event in the adjoining SECC.
A mixture of motivational speakers, budding young
entrepreneurs, competitions, music and a dash of magic
ensured the success of this years event.
The day was further enhanced by the use of an
electronic voting system which allowed delegates to rate
the speakers throughout the day. 86% of delegates rated
the morning speakers Good or above, with 71% in the
afternoon. In a 'Who wants to be a Millionaire?'
style quiz the audience was cut down to the five
delegates who answered all 10 questions correctly in the
fastest time. Prizes were I-pod nano's and MP3
players! Winners: Kenneth Munro, St Columba's;
Claire McDonald, St Thomas Aquinas; Nicholas Allen, St
Ninian's; Connor Scanlon, Dunfermline High and the only
teacher who answered all questions correctly was Mrs
McElhill from Lomond School!
Helping bring the event to a noisy close was
Celtic band Clann An Drumma who provided an energetic
set, including audience members and sent everyone home
with a smile!
